Us vs unlimited-editing subscriptions

Submit as many requests as you like, one at a time, and wait. The flat fee looks simple. The queue, the quality ceiling, and the strategy gap are where it gets expensive.

The honest version

What "Unlimited" Actually Means

Unlimited-request services solved a real problem: predictable pricing for design and editing without a retainer negotiation. The catch is in the mechanics. Requests are queued and worked one at a time, so "unlimited" means unlimited waiting, not unlimited output. The work goes to whoever is free, the brief sits with you, and nobody owns whether the video actually performs. Read the table before you read the price.

You're Not Buying More Edits. You're Buying Video That Earns Its Place.

A subscription is a faucet of edits. That's fine when you have a plan and footage already shot. It falls short the moment the work needs to look like a brand, ship on a deadline, or actually move a number.

The Queue Doesn't Decide Your Calendar

Volume is scoped up front, not throttled by a request stack. When you commit to a publishing rhythm, the Content Engine is built to keep it, week after week.

The Same Editors, Not a Rotating Pool

Your account keeps its team. They learn your voice, your show, and your style guide, so cut six looks more like you than cut one, not less.

A Plan, Not Just a Faucet

Editing is the last step, not the strategy. We start with an Audit and Video Roadmap, add on-site Filming & Videography when you need it, and produce against a plan.

When an unlimited subscription is the right call: you have a clear plan, footage already in hand, and your work is volume of simple edits where speed beats polish. We'll tell you so on the call. When you want a brand standard, a calendar that holds, and someone who owns the outcome, that's where we fit.

FAQ

Unlimited Subscription or a Partner, the Common Questions

Does "unlimited" really mean I get unlimited videos?

Not quite. Most unlimited services let you submit unlimited requests, but they work them one at a time. Add more requests and the queue gets longer, so the real limit is throughput, not requests. We scope a volume your calendar can actually hold and tell you the turnaround up front. The number depends on scope and volume, and there is no public rate card.

Why does turnaround slow down on a subscription?

Because work is queued. When you and every other client submit at once, your video waits its turn. With a dedicated team and an agreed volume, your turnaround is planned rather than dependent on how busy the pool is that week.

Isn't a flat monthly fee cheaper than an agency?

The sticker can be lower. The hidden cost is in the hours you spend briefing and re-briefing a rotating editor, the videos that ship at "good enough", and the strategy nobody owns. We price for the whole system: roadmap, editing, QA and a team that learns your brand. It depends on scope and volume, and there is no public rate card. Compare the real numbers, not just the headline.

Can you match a subscription's speed?

For straightforward edits, often yes, and without the queue effect. We also tend to need fewer revision rounds because the same editors know your style, so the video is closer to right the first time. The Content Engine is built around a steady rhythm.

Do you only edit, or can you film and strategise too?

Both, which most unlimited services can't. They're edit-only, so you supply the footage and the plan. We can build the plan first, shoot on-site through Filming & Videography, and edit against a roadmap so every video has a reason to exist.

How do I know if I've outgrown an unlimited subscription?

Usual signs: the queue keeps pushing your launches back, the work looks generic next to your brand, or you're spending more time managing requests than running the business. Start with a Free Video Audit and we'll give you a straight read.
